Meet the artists

Cleo

At the age of three Cleo started their journey on stage. Being classically trained in Ballet, they competed in several styles from Pointe to Tap. After earning a BA in Cultural Communication Studies; Cleo hit the open road with their soon to be life partner and new pals. Traveling in the Treehouse (’92 Chevy Short Bus) across the country working Renaissance Faires, Cleo’s new pals introduced them to fire spinning. This is where their journey with Hoop began. When Cleo isn’t flowing, catch them throwing down some improv.
Kymber began performing at the age of 13 and fell in love. She went on to pursue a degree in Theatre and was accepted into the Open Jar Institute, a broadway intensive in NYC. After earning her BA, she returned to Tulsa and has been diving into circus arts for the last 5 years. Her apparatuses of choice are aerial hoop, aerial sling, and aerial chair. She enjoys sharing her joy of aerial with others through teaching, choreographing, and creating original works. She is currently writing an original aerial/dance show which will hit the stage in 2023.
When she is not in the air, she can be found performing in musicals, dancing, or hanging with her two rad children. Kymber is excited to share the wonders of original circus works with Calliope Circus and sultry entertainment right here in Tulsa.

Jericho is passionate about her art and enjoys teaching others to reach for the stars and one day she hopes to become an aerialist with cirque du soleil.

Jennifer Paxton

Executive Director

After nearly a decade of experience on the road with her husband doing international circus, Jennifer returned home to bring the concept of social circus to Tulsa.  With over thirty years of performance and production experience, her unique skill set and passion for the arts has fueled her work.  She combined her BS in Psychology and her BA in Media Productions from Florida State University with her personal drive to improve the world around her to help bring meaningful, impactful, and joyful entertainment to this great city.

Anton Duval

Creative Director

Anton, a Tulsa native, spent the last 20 years honing his skills and earning the reputation as the world’s finest living flyer trapeze artist. Growing up in Oklahoma afforded him training as a pre-Olympic gymnast and a competitive high diver for his high school team.  He had many years of dance training and musical theater opportunities.  All of these skills aligned in the 1990’s when he began working for Club Med and training under Bob Christians.

After only a year of flying trapeze, he was throwing triple somersaults and began his career in international circus. His love for his children and longing for his hometown brought him back to Tulsa.  His dedication to his community inspired him to start Calliope Youth Circus Foundation and Calliope Circus.  He now spends his time on the ground, lifting others up and filling them with the wonder and joy of this incredible artform,
